Goals and Information
Welcome to the Cranes Nest Family Pre-school. We provide a loving and nurturing environment through fun, safe and creative learning activities. It is our goal to have a open line of communication. We will be providing learning tools that are age appropriate for each child, as each child grow at his/her own pace. This is very important to their learning needs as well as self esteem. We encourage self-motivation and work very hard on instilling kindness, good morals, independence and love for a happy, healthy child.
Sharon Crane has been a pre-school teacher here in the inland valley for the past 22 years. At the Crane's Nest Family Pre-school we accept children between the ages of six weeks to kindergarten. We have worked with infants, toddlers and pre-schoolers as well as school age children.

Supplies:
All items brought onto the pre-school premises should be labeled with your child's name. If not labeled by parent, the provider will do so. If your child is in diapers you will need to leave a two-week supply. You are also responsible for ointments, wipes and/or sipper cups. Your child will need a change of clothes appropriate to the weather and you need to up date every two months. Also your child will need to come to the center with shoes for their safety. If the weather is cold please send a jacket. The clothes for children who are able to use the toilet should be loose fitting and easy to get on and off. Please do not send any extra toys to school as we have enough to enrich their growth. If an item is brought to the center, the provider is not responsible for it.
Pick up Procedures
Please keep in mind that no one will be allowed to pick up your child unless he/she is on the emergency release form. It would also be in your best interest to let them know that until the become familiar with the staff and myself, they will need to show picture I.D. Any person picking up your child/children that is in my estimation , in an impaired condition(alcohol and/or drug abuse) will be encouraged to find alternate transportation. A child cannot legally be withheld from parent/guardian. However if we feel a child is in jeopardy, we will not hesitate to contact the police department. If you have a court order or restraint, it is very important that you submit a copy for your child's file.
By law, if parents are legally separated or divorced, each parent has equal rights to the custody of the child/children UNLESS a parent has a court order that indicates which parent has custody of the child/children. The school MUST HAVE A COPY OF THE COURT ORDER on file, otherwise either parent may check the child out of the school with proper identification.
Illness
It is important that everyone be considered when your child is ill. All children who are contagious need to stay home for at least 24 hours. Diarrhea, vomiting, high grade fever(99.9 and above), a heavy or colored nasal discharge, and any childhood diseases (chicken pox, measles, mumps, ect..). If your child becomes ill while in our care, your child will be isolated until someone arrives, within an hourʼs time to pick him/her up. If your child is not going to attend or is going to be late we expect a phone call by 8:00a.m. so our day will not be delayed. Thank you for your consideration and cooperation in this matter. It is to your childʼs benefit to keep us up to date on phone numbers, emergency numbers and other pertinent information.
Please keep in mind that your child will get skinned knees and scrapes throughout the day. I will not call you unless your child needs medical attention. We will assess your child's needs and take proper steps to ensure his/her safety and well being. In case a accidental injury, every attempt will be made to contact the parent. If a parent cannot be reached or anyone on the emergency list, the child's physician will be called. If necessary an ambulance or paramedics will also be called. The parents will assume responsibility for any resulting expenses: not covered by their insurance.
If you would like the staff to administer any medication to your child, it must be in the original container with the child's name and dose from the pharmacy on it. You will also be required to sign a medication release form. We do not administer over the counter medication without a prescription signed by the doctor. The pre-school provider is not responsible for any adverse reaction, which is caused by the administration of such medication. This policy will be strictly enforced for the safety of your child.
Hours of Operation: The Crane's Nest Family Pre-school is open from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm We offer a morning preschool program. The morning program runs 9:00am-12:00pm. with extended care until 5:30p.m. There is a late fee of $5.00 for each five minutes you are late to pick up your child and is due at the time you pick up, unless you make other arrangements. I am strict with pick up policy as I have my own family's needs to consider.
